Looking ahead to future car technologies

North Shore used Toyota shoppers are hopefully doing the necessary research while on the hunt for their next vehicle, especially since the Continental Corporation in Germany recently revealed the type of systems that new vehicles will have in the near future. Sales team members at the Chicago used Toyota dealership are excited to show off the new systems when the time comes.

One of the new technologies that manufacturers plan to install in new vehicles is the Emergency Steer Assist, a concept similar to that of Emergency Brake Assist. In the event that the driver needs to swerve to avoid an accident, the Emergency Steer Assist works with the electric steering rack to vary the torque by directing, basically suggesting the proper steering wheel motion. In other words, if you need to swerve left, you will feel greater resistance from the steering wheel in the clockwise direction and less resistance in the counterclockwise. It sounds a bit complicated, but drivers will feel at ease when behind the wheel in busy traffic conditions that North Shore used Toyota drivers are familiar with.

Another new technology expected to be in future vehicles is the Active Force Feedback Pedal. The foot pressure can be varied quickly and the pedal also pulses back on your foot. I usually do my best to help the environment, and the Active Force Feedback Pedal can help out with this goal by adjusting the pedal pressure to ensure the driver is traveling in an eco-friendly manner. Additionally, the car can also pick up an emergency stop warning from the car in front of it, and alert the driver via pulses from the pedal. Interested consumers can obtain more details by visiting their favorite  Chicago used Toyota dealership to consult a sales representative.

My most favorite type of software that Continental Corporation is working on is Intelligent Tire System/Fill Assist. A device is mounted on the inner tire tread and measures tire pressure, temperature, g-force, and load. What is even more impressive is that the sensors also communicate with the Antilock Braking System and Electronic Stability Control of the vehicle, allowing the driver to optimize gas mileage, handling, and safety.

Considering that automobile technology is consistently evolving, many consumers can’t wait to see what’s next, especially if they are shopping for a new vehicle. In the meantime, shoppers should visit their local Toyota dealer to obtain more information.
