I was in college when the first person asked me what my Myspace page was. I had no idea what they were talking about then and I truly wish I had no idea now. That’s what I thought at least until Facebook came along and introduced some healthy competition into the mix. Now companies of all market segments are fighting to find the best ways to promote themselves on networking sites. It takes a special kind of bridge to bring people together. What is the best conduit you ask? Toyota has announced that bridge shall be music.
Music is the one thing that can bring people together. Of course if someone plays even a single song by Chicago, then I’m out the door and burning that bridge down as fast as I can get the match lit. By presenting themselves and independent musicians on the social site, Myspace, Toyota hopes to bring pleasure to peoples ears while cleverly bringing the Toyota name to their eyes.
Step into any Chicago used Toyota dealership and you’re sure to see signage for “check us out on our Myspace page.” Even car dealers have been reduced to eighteen year old girls just wishing and hoping someone becomes a fan of their details and photos. At least the plus side when Toyota spreads its want of love, it comes with the promise of great deals and original music. In Chicago, 2010 Rav4 will be the model to look out for. Much like independent music it comes with plenty of energy and power coupled with a desire to be noticed.
In a city of millions, standing out is usually something that is thrown way past the back burner. Being noticed in a metropolis is just about impossible. Toyota is here to help. In a time when every mobile wagon on the road is a gas guzzling monster trying to make a loud statement, or a tiny battery powered whisper of a protest, any driver could calmly drift by in satisfaction knowing that though they may be in the middle they are sure to be noticed. Head to Myspace, check out the tunes, then check out how you can get noticed in your own world.
